Business Analyst Consultant Healthcare / Medicaid Systems

Location: Columbia (Hybrid 4 days onsite 1 day remote)

Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst Consultant to support large-scale healthcare and Medicaid modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams helping translate business needs into technical solutions while ensuring successful project delivery across enterprise healthcare systems.

This role requires strong experience in healthcare operations Medicaid systems business process analysis and enterprise technology integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between business units and IT teams to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Gather analyze and document business functional and system requirements.
  • Support Program Managers and Project Managers in achieving project goals and operational objectives.
  • Analyze current business processes and identify automation and optimization opportunities.
  • Facilitate business process redesign and workflow improvements.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
  • Coordinate communication between stakeholders technical teams and leadership.
  • Lead business design and integration sessions across multiple workstreams.
  • Support healthcare modernization and Medicaid system transformation initiatives.
  • Track project status risks issues and deliverables.
  • Conduct cross-functional meetings and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and project progress reporting metrics.
  • Mentor team members and support delivery of high-quality business solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in commercial healthcare environments.
  • 3 years of experience with State Medicaid payer systems integration and delivery.
  • 3 years of familiarity with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) principles.
  • 6 years of experience with healthcare data structures EDI processes and related file formats.
  • 6 years of experience with business process analysis system workflows and enterprise technology solutions.
  • 6 years of experience supporting cross-functional enterprise projects.
  • Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale healthcare technology integration initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Federal Certification requirements and compliance processes.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • Experience working within government or public-sector healthcare environments.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Information Technology or related field preferred.
