About The Job

As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs editorial team, you will write and edit content that is true to the Google voice, in its many forms. You will work closely with Google executives and their teams to write and edit speeches, op-eds and blog posts that span the entire company--including product areas, regions, corporate news and the fun stuff in between! We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them simply. You will also have the opportunity to come up with new ideas for content, uncover engaging stories and flex your creativity wherever needed.

The Editorial team within Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) develops content to share Google’s top news and messages with key external audiences. Our team acts as a central support function within GCPA, developing editorial and creative assets and content — i.e., writing, editing, photography, design, video, animation, and now, expanded audio/visual storytelling — to support Google in getting our news out effectively.

In this role, you will drive our forthcoming news podcast. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of this audio and visual franchise, from conceptualizing episode topics and managing guest relationships to overseeing the technical edit and executing platform-specific distribution. You will act as a bridge between high-level editorial strategy and technical execution, ensuring our audio and video content is exceptional, research-backed, and optimized for growth across social and owned and operated channels.

It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$205,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google .

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overarching content calendar by researching trending topics and aligning episode themes with company milestones, product launches, and cultural moments to ensure a cohesive brand narrative.
  • Manage the full production lifecycle, including guest sourcing and technical briefing, while maintaining master trackers for recording schedules, release dates, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Develop comprehensive research briefs, interview outlines, and scripts for intros, outros, and promotional segments to ensure hosts and guests are fully prepared for high-quality recordings.
  • Oversee the audio/video engineering and editing workflow, providing detailed creative direction to editors (or executing direct edits) to maintain premium production standards across all drafts.
  • Own the publishing process across all platforms using SEO-optimized metadata, while driving audience growth through short-form video repackaging and strategic cross-promotional partnerships.
