We are looking for a Social Studies Teacher for an international school based in Chongqing. With small class sizes, a close-knit community, and a personalized approach to learning, the school aims to help students grow into confident, independent, and globally minded learners.Job detailsTeach Social Studies-related subjects to high school students, including areas such as American Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, History, and GeographyPrepare lesson plans and deliver engaging lessons aligned with American curriculum standardsUse a range of teaching methods and resources to support different learning needsAssess students’ progress, grade assignments, and provide clear feedback to students and parentsSupport students who need additional help and provide extension activities for higher-achieving learnersPrepare students for tests, exams, presentations, projects, and other assessmentsBuild positive relationships with students, parents, and colleaguesAttend staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops, and other school activities as requiredSupervise students during classes, school events, and field tripsMonitor students’ wellbeing and work with the school counselor or relevant staff when neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree or above in a relevant subject areaValid teaching license or certificationMinimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably at middle or high school levelExperience with US Common Core or an American curriculum preferredAP teaching experience or certification preferredSalary and benefitsCompetitive monthly salary commensurate with experience and qualificationsFlight allowance providedMedical insurance providedPaid summer and winter holidaysPublic holidaysWork visa supportProfessional development opportunities
