Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, the Physical Plant Director is both a strategic and operational hands-on position which, with limited supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling all physical plant functions including, but not limited to, overseeing the maintenance and operation of all physical buildings and grounds, supporting the construction and/or remodeling of facilities, and the development and management of the physical plant’s budget and inventories. In addition, the Director of Physical Plant supervises all physical plant personnel, manages the utilization and maintenance of the institution’s vehicles, snow plowing operations, utilities, security systems and oversees the implementation of fire and safety programs.

Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines. Work is sedentary in nature, which at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees. This program waives the tuition for three courses (up to nine credit hours) per semester.
