Job Opportunity – Gastroenterology – Virginia

Start Date: Multiple shifts available starting January 2026

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Various shift structures available including weekday Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM coverage, extended 24-hour call shifts, and weekend coverage (Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM). Minimum 6 hours onsite typically starting at 7:00 AM. Low patient volume with approximately 1 patient per day for routine consults.

• Two hospital campuses: 466-bed Level I facility and 292-bed Level III facility
• Multiple coverage options available: advanced procedures with ERCP/EUS capability or general GI without advanced procedures
• NP support staff available at one campus to assist with GI cases
• Focus on GI emergencies and appropriate clinical judgment for resource utilization
• EMR system: Meditech for endoscopy requests and consult management
• Opportunity for both weekday and weekend coverage based on provider skillset

Requirements:

• Board Certification in Gastroenterology required
• Virginia medical license or ability to obtain
• For advanced procedure shifts: ERCP and EUS experience required
• For general GI shifts: routine endoscopy and colonoscopy experience; advanced procedures not required but acceptable
• Ability to manage GI emergencies independently
